June 2015 Management Updates
As we move into the low season, this is when a lot of the work gets done around the resort. Management were kind enough to send me an update of some of the plans they have for this piece of Cuban paradise. In addition to the regular painting and upkeep throughout the buildings and grounds which goes on every year prior to the start of the following high season they are also planning the following:
They are currently contracting a 3rd party company to take care of the more major maintenance of the rooms in order to prepare them for the next upcoming high season. This should start soon and continue throughout the low season. I know some rooms in the Park section are in need of this and will be greatly appreciated by guests arriving next year.
New weekly activities are in the works such as a Cuban party on Wednesdays and Paella lunches on Thursdays from 11:30 am until 4:00 pm. This will bring more of a Cuban/Spanish theme and flare to the resort.
They are creating a variety of specialty upgrade packages such as Wellness Upgrade, Deluxe Experience, Royal Sensations, Sunset Dinner that can be purchased in-house at check-in or anytime during your stay that along with an upgrade to a duplex suite or another section of the resort a variety of options in the package, like a 30 minute massage, supper at the El Colonial, romantic sunset dinner with a special selected menu by the chef to name a few. This is still in the early stages of development.
All the palapas of the Grand Village are being replaced by new ones and they are using the old ones to restore and add to the palapas on the other part of Ensenachos and Megano beaches. The palapas at the GV will be finished in about a week from now and next month they will be starting with Megano and the other end of Ensenachos, restoring the palapas that they already had and adding more for to accommodate all the guests. This is good news and will be greatly appreciated. Now lets keep our fingers crossed that there are no hurricanes or bad storms to take them down.
