September 2015 Management Updates
This low season some bungalows are being shut down for maintenance. There are 4 or 5 tech people hired to get everything fixed up. Bungalows 29, 34 have just been completed and bungalow 39 is currently being worked on. Next week the plan is to start bungalows 28, 30 and 41. The Grand Village villas are also being worked on. Maintenance includes repainting, furniture, marble care, fumigation and so on… All the bugalows may not be completed for the entire hotel for high season (December 1st) but they will try to be close to this deadline. If not they will keep the bungalow closed to finish the maintenance. The two boardwalks of the Grand Village that lead to the beach are being replaced and made completely new. They are also working on general painting on the entire area as well as improving the lightning fixtures of the signs and the road connecting the main building with the Grand Village.
The whole chef/cook team is changing as of tomorrow (September 3). Three new main chefs arrived a couple of weeks ago and they are bringing new menus, new ideas, new services, new timetable (around the clock food service). All the restaurants are going to be changed. They have spent 20 days at the resort, searching and getting to know the hotel as well as getting ready for the change over......which tomorrow is the day!!! They are supposed to send me the menu selection once it is completed and I will be posting them under the "Restaurants" header of this website. Good news is for those that love the Langousta Thermidor served in the “El Colonial” (my personal favourite dish)......it will be staying and be on the new menu :-)
